China's largest full fiber steel crankshaft successfully rolled off assembly line in CSR

November 20, 18V32/40 crankshaft, China''s largest full fiber steel crankshaft with weight of about 5.375 tons, length of about 6.735 meters and installed power of 9000kW rolled off the assembly line in CSR Ziyang. The birth of the crankshaft filled the gap of China from forging, heat treatment production to machining of V-32/40 crankshaft, thus putting an end to the long-term reliance of import of this type of crankshaft.
CSR Ziyang has long-term commitment to domestic development many of large, full fiber steel crankshaft. In February 2009, the company introduced the German MAN company''s high-power medium-speed marine diesel engine technology to build the world''s top marine engine technology and manufacturing platform. In 2010, the company successfully trial-produced and achieved mass production of 6L, 7L, 8L, 9L 32/40 series crankshaft. Currently, the company''s 12V32/40 crankshaft is being manufactured, 14V32/40 and 16V32/40 crankshaft process development has also been completed.
The 18V32/40 crankshaft can be widely used in large generators, marine main and auxiliaries and other fields. In September 2010, Ziyang company started process R&D of this type of crankshaft. In the subsequent one year, it overcame difficulties in forging such as length direction control, mounting surface filling, alignment stroke length, and hot treatment such as tensile strength up to 950 MPa, oil-water two-liquid hardening, and large bending deflection, as well as in machining like combination R processing, connecting rod neck grinding, crankshaft bending, and major axis neck grinding, and finally succeeded in making China''s first 18V32/40 crankshaft. As a result, the company has become the only enterprise with capabilities from forging, heat treatment to machining and manufacturing of L-and V-type 32/40 crankshaft.
It is reported that the first 18V32/40 crankshaft off the assembly line have been purchased by a user, and will participate at the Marintec China 2011 at the end of November in Shanghai. At present, many companies having learned about the exhibition of the crankshaft called to consult the exhibition location, price and technical indicators and so on.
