Alstom Transport has just delivered the first KZ8A electric freight locomotive to

Kazakhstan. Designed to resist extreme temperatures (from -50° to +50°), this 200 tonne

locomotive was constructed in Belfort, France, the site that will deliver the 25 KZ8A's

ordered, nine of which will be complete and 15 of which will be delivered in kits. Around

175 other locomotives will be produced in Kazakhstan.
