Three new pairs of non-stop bullet trains from Kunming to Lijiang have opened starting from April 10, adding to the three pairs that have already been running, according to the cooperation agreement between the Lijiang government and China Railway Kunming Group Co.

Lijiang is a world famous tourist destination that boasts many scenic spots such as the Old Town of Lijiang, Yulong Snow Mountain, and Lugu Lake.

Since the launch of the bullet train (Kunming-Lijiang) on Jan 5, 2019, the travel time from Kunming to Lijiang has been shortened from nine hours to three hours, more than three hours faster than road transportation.

From Jan 5 to March 3, a total of 400,000 passengers have taken the Kunming-Lijiang bullet train. The bullet train has become an important means of transportation for tourists and citizens.

China Railway Kunming Group Co will also add four new pairs of bullet trains running from Kunming to Lijiang in the second half of the year, bringing the total number of high speed trains running on the line to 10.
