Prohibited items in railway stations

In accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Railway Safety and other national laws, administrative regulations and rules promulgated by the State Council, and in order to safeguard public safety on railways and ensure the safe travel of the vast number of passengers, carrying of the following items into railway stations is prohibited:

1. Firearms and ammunition (including major parts):
Pistols, rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, riot guns and other military guns and various kinds of ammunition, including blank and live ammunition or any used for testing and training; air guns, shotguns, sports guns, tranquilizer guns and other civilian guns and various kinds of matching bullets; prop guns, simulation guns, starting guns, steel ball guns, fire-fighting guns and other guns; or samples and imitations of the above.
Military personnel, armed police, public security personnel, militia, shooters and others carrying guns and bullets shall be dealt with in accordance with state laws and regulations, and the provisions on gun control such as separation of guns and bullets shall be strictly enforced.

2. Explosives:
Bombs, flares, incendiary bombs, smoke bombs, flares, tear gas, gas bombs, antitank grenades, grenades and any other explosives, detonators, fuses, detonating cords, blasting agents or other blasting equipment, as well as all kinds of fireworks such as shells, fireworks, bangers, crackers, cannons, gunpowder, pyrotechnic powder, ignition wire and other pyrotechnic products, and imitations of them.

3. Knives, blunt objects and similar items:
Daggers, three-edged knives (including three-edged scrapers for machine use), spring knives with self-locking devices and other similar controlled knives with single or double edges, controlled knives, kitchen knives, table knives, axes, sticking knives and other sharp and blunt tools that may endanger the personal safety of passengers as well as batons, tear gas, tear gas guns, electric shockers, taser guns, nail guns, shields, bows, crossbows and other similar devices.

4. Inflammable and explosive materials:
Hydrogen, methane, ethane, butane, natural gas, ethylene, propylene, acetylene (dissolved in medium), carbon monoxide, liquefied petroleum gas, freon, oxygen (excluding medical oxygen for patients to inhale oxygen), compressed gases such as water gas and liquefied gases; flammable liquids such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, benzene, ethanol (alcohol), acetone, ether, paint, thinner, turpentine and products containing flammable solvents are prohibited, as are red phosphorus, flash powder, solid alcohol, celluloid, blowing agent H and other flammable solids, yellow phosphorus, white phosphorus, nitrocellulose (including film), oil paper and its products and other spontaneous combustion articles, metal potassium, sodium, lithium, calcium carbide (calcium carbide), magnesium aluminum powder and other articles flammable moisturized, potassium permanganate, potassium chlorate, sodium peroxide, potassium peroxide, lead peroxide, peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and other oxidants and organic peroxides.

5. Highly toxic, corrosive, radioactive, infectious or hazardous substances.
Highly toxic chemicals such as cyanide, arsenic, selenium powder, phenol and highly toxic pesticides such as tetramine (including rodenticide and pesticide), ccorrosive articles such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, batteries containing potassium hydroxide solid and filled with acid or alkali, mercury (Hg); radioactive items such as radioisotopes, Hepatitis B virus, bacillus anthracis, mycobacterium tuberculosis, HIV and other infectious pathogens. And, dangerous goods other than those listed in the Railway Dangerous Goods Description List and articles which cannot be identified as potentially dangerous in nature.

6. Items that threaten the safety of train operation or public health:
Strong magnetizers that may interfere with train signals, articles with strong irritating odors, items with foul odors and other peculiar smells, live animals (except guide dogs), articles that may interfere with public health, goods that can damage or pollute stations, train services, equipment and spare parts.

7. Items permitted in limited amounts: 
Nail polish, polish remover and hair dye to no more than 20ml; up to 120 ml of cold perm, mousse, hairspray, pesticide, air freshener and other self-spraying pressure vessels; two small boxes of safety matches; two regular lighters.

8. Other articles prohibited or restricted from being carried by passengers shall be handled in accordance with state laws, administrative regulations and rules.

9. Illegal possession of the aforesaid articles shall be handled in accordance with national laws and regulations.
