Loaded with 1,200 metric tons of concentrated apple juice, the China-Europe Chang'an freight train departed from Xi'an Port in Xi'an International Trade and Logistics (ITL) Park on Sept 18, heading for Moscow, Russia.

The freight train will leave China through the Manzhouli land port in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, with the total journey expected to take 12 days.

Compared with previous transportation methods, the freight train will save more than two thirds of the travel time, while also reducing logistics costs.

The apple juice is from SDIC Zhonglu Fruit Juice Co, a well-known company in China's concentrated juice industry, which exports to more than 20 countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan.

Shaanxi is the main producing area of apples, and the juice quality has been praised as being very good, which can better meet market and customer needs.

From January to July of this year, the freight train has made a total of 1,073 trips, ranking first in the country in terms of the total number of trips, heavy load rate, and freight volume.

Sun Yimin, director of the management committee of ITL Park, said that the freight train will provide a new logistics solution for Shaanxi's best-selling products, as well as support the development of the export-oriented economy in the province.
